What is a dermaplane?

  • Dermaplane is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the gentle exfolation and removal of unwanted (fine, vellus or "peach fuzz") facial hair uisng a sterile surgical scalpel. The procedure is painless and includes a facial cleanse and hydrating mask. Dermaplanes leave your skin smooth and radiant, creating a flawless canvas for makeup application while allowing improved absorbtion of facial products.

How long does a dermaplane service take?

  • The entire service takes about 45-60 minutes.

Is dermaplaning safe for all skin types?

  • Generally, yes. However, those with active breakouts and acne, certain skin conditions, and very senstive skin should consult a doctor/ dermatologist before recieving the treatment.

How often can I get dermaplaning done?

  • It is typically recommended to have dermaplanning done every 4-6 weeks, as this allows the skin to regenerate between treatments.

Does dermaplaning hurt?

  • Most clients report minimal discomfort, describing the sensation as a light scraping or tickle. It is a painless procedure when performed by one of our trained and skilled professionals.

What should I expect after the treament?

  • Directly after your service, your skin may feel sensitive, tight, and appear slightly red. This usually subsides quickly, within a few hours post-treatment.

Can I wear makeup after a dermaplane?

  • It is best to avoid makeup for 12-24 hours post-treatment to allow the skin to breathe and recover. After that, makeup application will be smoother and look radiant!

How should I care for my skin after dermaplaning?

  • Post-treament, it is important to keep your skin moisturized and protected with sunscreen, as it may be extra sensitive to the sun. Avoid sun exposure for 24-48 hours, if possible.

  • Avoid any exfoliating for up to 1 week after the service to avoid over-exfoliation; this includes both manual exfoliators such as facial scrubs, as well as chemical exfoliators such as retinoids and acids.

Will my hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?

  • No, dermaplaning does not affect the thicknenss of hair growth. The fine, vellus hair that is being removed will grow back at it's natural rate and texture.

Are there any side effects?
